5 stars A pediatrician's view, March 19, 2013

This review is from: Autism, ADHD & Neurofeedback: 6 Powerful Strategies To Increase Your Child's Peak Performance

Lisa Enneis and Teresa Lauer have written an outstanding book. They have managed to create both an explanation for a new therapeutic option with a "how to" manual for parents and loved ones who face the issue of dealing with this problem on a daily basis.

As a practicing pediatrician, I deal with patients with these issues on a weekly basis. Parents, who have worked the system, have 504s, IEPS, and medication trials, often see no real improvement in their children's lives. Neurofeedback offers hope to these parents and their children.

Autism, ADHD & Neurofeedback works. The process of neurofeedback is something the children already know, by way computers and video gaming. The results look very promising. I heartily endorse the book and the intervention.

5 stars Clear presentation of valuable new therapy, March 26, 2013

This review is from: Autism, ADHD & Neurofeedback: 6 Powerful Strategies To Increase Your Child's Peak Performance

The explanations of neurofeedback provided by authors Lisa Enneis and Teresa Lauer in this invaluable new book are clear and concise, while still offering considerable descriptive detail. Results of neurofeedback training as presented in the case studies should provide considerable encouragement for those seeking a therapeutic modality without troubling side effects. Descriptions of the transformations of various clients are remarkable and offer the hope of lasting benefits.

5 stars This Book Offers Hope!, March 23, 2013

This review is from: Autism, ADHD & Neurofeedback: 6 Powerful Strategies To Increase Your Child's Peak Performance

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I want to encourage parents and professionals who are unfamiliar with the use of neurofeedback for the treatment of ADHD or autism to read this book. Lisa and Teresa explain in a straightforward manner the disorders in kids that have responded to neurofeedback. The therapy is described and guidance is given to help families chart a course through educational, behavioral and emotional challenges.

Equally important, in my opinion, is the empathy shown in the case studies for children and their parents. Many of them had been unsuccessful with other modalities and were clearly discouraged. Instilling hope is vitally important when people are suffering, and this book does it in an honest and realistic way.
